11/29/12 - Superintendent Lauren Kingry, Robert Charlton, Assistant Superintendent and Louis Dettorre, Legislative Liaison met with the Arizona Title Loan Association for an annual meeting to discuss emerging industry issues and pending legislation
11/15-11/16/12 – Superintendent Lauren Kingry and Robert Charlton, Assistant Superintendent attended the Southwest Border Anti-Money Laundering Alliance Organization Conference in San Diego. These meetings are to keep Alliance-affiliated investigators, prosecutors, analysts and all levels of government in touch with each other for all aspects of money laundering between states and countries.
11/8/12 - Superintendent Lauren W. Kingry and Louis Dettorre, Legislative Liaison attended the Arizona Bankers Association’s Annual Bank Directors & Leadership College. Superintendent Kingry presented an update on the health of the state’s bank regulator, the current state of the Arizona financial industry, perspective on the role of the state regulator and the evolution of the state charter in the wake of federal financial reforms.
10/29/12 - Superintendent Lauren W. Kingry; Louis Dettorre, Legislative Liaison; Robert Charlton, Assistant Superintendent and Richard Fergus, Licensing Manager met with the Arizona Association of Mortgage Professionals to discuss potential legislative issues, loan officer compensation caps, the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, and emerging issues with supervision and examination.

10/30/12 – Superintendent Lauren Kingry and Tami Smull, manager of Financial Institutions Division participated in the National Credit Union Association Region V Joint meeting in Tempe, Arizona. The focus of the meeting was on emerging issues of examination and supervision of credit unions, as well as best practices for a recovering economy.
10/11/12 - Susan Zimmerman, the Department’s IT manager attended the CSBS Technology Conference in Philadelphia. The Conference focused on NMLS, data security and FDIC software solutions.
10/05/12 - Richard Fergus, Licensing Manager attended the Association of Mortgage Professional’s Industry Expo held at the Phoenix Convention Center. The Expo featured speaker Mark Savitt, President of NAIHP and focused on mortgage industry topics.
10/02/12 - Robert Charlton, Assistant Superintendent was guest speaker at the Arizona Infragard FBI White Collar Crime program held at Wild Horse Pass. The topics were the Department’s coordination with the Attorney General’s Office, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Housing and Urban Development, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations and also mortgage fraud. Approximately 150 FBI and law enforcement personnel were in attendance.

09/20/12 - Robert Charlton spoke at the Land Title Association Conference in Sedona. The topics included Department updates, short sale negotiations and licensure.
9/19/12 – Robert Charlton, Assistant Superintendent was guest speaker at the Arizona Association of Mortgage Professional’s monthly meeting held in Scottsdale, Arizona where he gave an update on the Department news, legislation, staff complaints, examinations and possible licensure of short sale negotiators.
9/17/12 – Fraud alert to Financial Institutions: Cyber Criminals Targeting Financial Institution Employee Credentials to Conduct Wire Transfer Fraud. Please see the Fraud Alert from the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
09/16/12 - Superintendent Lauren Kingry attended the CSBS Board of Directors Bankers Advisory Board and SRR in Tiburon, California.
09/12/12 - 9/14/12 - Tamilee Smull, Financial Institution manager attended the NASCUS Conference in Denver, CO.
09/11/12 - Superintendent Lauren Kingry and Tamilee Smull, Financial Institutions Manager held a meeting with the Mountain West Credit Union Association to discuss credit union issues.
9/11/12 – The Arizona Department of Financial Institutions Receives Certificate of Accreditation. The Department maintains the highest standards and practices in state banking supervision set by the CSBS Accreditation Program. The Department has maintained accreditation for 16 years.
09/06/12 - Superintendent Lauren Kingry was a guest speaker at the Joint Women’s Council of Realtors/Southern Arizona Mortgage Lender Association Business Resource Meeting along with Judy Lowe, Commissioner of the Department of Real Estate and Diana Williams, National RESPA fraud speaker.
08/23/12 - Superintendent Lauren Kingry, Louis Dettorre, Legislative Liaison, Richard Fergus and Latasha Ontiveros, licensing management met with the Arizona Automobile Dealers Association to discuss upcoming legislative issues.
08/16/12 - Superintendent Lauren Kingry, Robert Charlton, Assistant Superintendent and Louis Dettorre, Legislative Liaison met with the Land Title Association and the Arizona State Escrow Association to discuss pending legislation and unlicensed activity.
08/14/12 - Richard Fergus, the Department’s Licensing Manager attended the AARMR 23rd Annual Regulatory Conference in Boston. General Sessions included mortgage loan servicing, foreclosure prevention, loan modification scams. Speakers included representatives from FinCEN, CFPB, NMLS and FHFA.
08/13/12 - Superintendent Lauren Kingry and Robert Charlton, Assistant Superintendent were guest speakers at the 2012 Annual meeting of the Arizona Collectors Association held in Glendale, Arizona.
08/01/12 - Superintendent Lauren Kingry was guest speaker at the Real Estate Agent’s meeting held in Phoenix. Louis Dettorre attended. The main topics were short sales, legislation and licensure.
07/15/12 - Superintendent Lauren Kingry and Tamilee Smull attended the NASCUS/CSBS District V Regulator meeting held in San Francisco, CA.
06/23/12 - Superintendent Kingry was a panel member for the TMA program which includes the federal, state and local regulation of banks, lenders and credit unions.
